The “Master Mix” substrate is a specially formulated blend designed to optimize mushroom cultivation. This mix is composed of three key components: hardwood pellets, soy hulls, and wood chips.
- Hardwood Pellets: These compressed wood particles provide a solid foundation for mushroom growth. They offer essential nutrients and a supportive structure for the mycelium to colonize and develop.
- Soy Hulls: Soy hulls contribute to moisture retention and create a favorable environment for mycelium growth. Their texture aids in maintaining optimal humidity levels within the substrate.
- Wood Chips: Wood chips offer additional nutrients and help create pockets of air within the substrate, promoting proper aeration. This is crucial for healthy mycelium development.
The Master Mix substrate combines these elements in precise proportions to ensure a balanced and nutrient-rich environment. This approach streamlines the cultivation process, enabling successful mushroom growth for both newcomers and seasoned cultivators. These bags are ideal for cultivating a range of mushrooms including Lion’s Mane, Reishi, Swordbelt, Coral Tooth, Shimeji, various types of Oysters, and other hardwood-loving varieties. However, these bags are not recommended for growing Enoki, Turkey Tail, and Shiitake mushrooms.
Key Features
Instant Accessibility: These plates come pre-poured with Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA), eliminating the need for manual preparation. They’re ready for use right out of the packaging.
Optimal Sterility: Each plate undergoes meticulous sterilization, ensuring a completely contamination-free environment for your cultures.
Durable Construction: Made from high-quality plastic, these plates are robust and resistant to cracking or breaking, providing a reliable platform for your experiments.
Clear Surface for Observation: The clear surface of these plates allows for easy visual inspection of your cultures, making them an essential tool for researchers and enthusiasts.
Standardized Medium: PDA agar provides a well-balanced nutritional substrate for a wide range of fungi, allowing for healthy growth and development.
Convenient Size: The plates are sized for easy handling and storage, fitting comfortably in standard incubation environments.
Usage
Usage: To use pre-sterilized Masters Mix substrate bags, first, introduce spores or mycelium into grain bags. Once colonization occurs, transfer colonized grains to the Masters Mix bags. Allow mycelium to colonize the mix, then shift to a fruiting environment. Harvest mature mushrooms. This method optimizes growth conditions for various mushroom species.
